Oléron Surf Club Environmental Policy and Commitments
Oléron Surf Club is committed to a comprehensive approach to protecting natural environments. The Club does its utmost to avoid any harmful discharge into the natural environment: we use biodegradable or biocompatible products as much as possible to minimize the impact of our activities on the marine ecosystem (dunes, sand, water, flora, and fauna).
During the off-season, our beach hut on Vert-Bois beach is dismantled and stored away from the beautiful sandy coastline, allowing the natural wild landscape of the island of Oléron to return.
By working with school groups throughout the year and with trainees during surf lessons, Oléron Surf Club instructors help raise environmental awareness in both children and adults, encouraging respect for nature and for others.
Some of our old surfboards are repaired and sent to surfers in Cape Verde as part of a GOG project supporting local communities.
Oléron Surf Club is a member of "Nautisme Responsable Marennes-Oléron". Find more information on our Responsible Boating page.
